restiffic troubleshooting

Always follow the directions for use included in the restiffic packaging. Do not over-tighten the device straps and only wear device when off your feet or in bed. restiffic should not be used during any activity which puts pressure on the feet (ex. walking, driving, running, biking).

If you have been using restiffic for several days and are not experiencing any change in your RLS symptoms, you may need to adjust the positioning of the device on your foot. Make sure that the ball of the foot is positioned in the divot in the Flexor-T pad. Your toes should be exposed from the end of the wrap, and you should feel a firm but comfortable pressure along the inner side of your foot once the straps of the wraps are tightened. If still not experiencing relief, try adjusting the device’s positioning in small increments towards the arch of your foot and allow time for the device to take effect. Repeat until relief occurs.

Most side effects attributed to restiffic can be resolved through adjusting the pressure or tightness of the straps. If any side effects do not resolve by loosening the straps, removing the device completely, or recur in multiple instances, do not reapply the device and consult with your healthcare provider.

If after applying the restiffic device correctly you experience…

  • Discomfort: Make sure that the device has been applied correctly. Loosen the straps or reapply if necessary.
  • Bruising*:Remove the device. Wait for bruising to resolve before using the device again.
  • Abrasion*: Remove the device. Wait for abrasion to resolve before using the device again.
  • Rash: Remove the device. Wait for rash to resolve before using the device again. Speak with your healthcare provider to determine if you may be allergic to the material components of the device.
  • Pain: Remove the device. Wait for pain to resolve before using the device again.
  • Sores*:Remove the device. Wait for sores to heal before using the device again.
  • Swelling: Remove the device. Wait for swelling to decrease completely before using the device again. If swelling recurs, does not resolve, or spreads, do not reapply the device. Consult with your healthcare provider.
  • Trouble with circulation in the feet (ex. Toes turning blue): Loosen the straps or remove the device. Do not reapply the device if trouble with circulation continues.
  • Numbness in feet:Remove the device. Wait for numbness to resolve before using the device again.
  • Tingling of the feet:Remove the device. Wait for the tingling to resolve before using the device again. Slight tingling for a short period of time after removing the device may be from your muscles relaxing.
  • Cramping of the feet:Remove the device. Wait for the cramping to resolve before using the device again.
  • Low back pain: Remove the device. Wait for the pain to resolve before using the device again.
  • Tripping on straps:Fit the device snugly on your feet and only wear when off your feet or in bed. The restiffic device should not be worn during any activity in which you are actively putting pressure on your feet. Wearing the cover ups over the wraps will also help prevent the straps from getting in the way.
  • Having trouble sleeping with the device applied because straps are sticking to the blankets: Wear the restiffic cover ups over the wraps. These will prevent the hook and loop material from sticking to sheets or clothes.

*Bruising, abrasion, and sores are possible but unlikely. None were observed during the clinical study of restiffic.
